Excessive Sweating

What is hyperhidrosis?

In some people, the body’s mechanism for cooling itself is overactive — so overactive that they may sweat four or five times more than is necessary, or normal. When sweating is this extreme it can be embarrassing, uncomfortable and anxiety-inducing. It can disrupt all aspects of a person’s life. This kind of excessive sweating is called hyperhidrosis and affects approximately 3% of the world’s population.

Hyperhidrosis treatments

At CCSD, we treat hyperhidrosis with a variety of customized medications and treatments.

  • Prescription strength topical antiperspirants and oral medications.
  • miraDry® is a procedure used to permanently reduce underarm sweating and odor in patients with either excessive sweating, excessive odor or those who are bothered by their underarm sweat/odor.
  • Botox for hyperhidrosis. Areas treated at CCSD: underarms, palms of hands and hairline.

To diagnose this condition please schedule a consultation with one of our providers for a physical exam. The assessment helps us to diagnose and plan the best treatment option for you.
