What is cellulite?

resonic cellulite treatment Chicago

Are you bothered by your cellulite? It’s completely fine if you aren’t! But if you are, you’re not alone because approximately 38 million women in the United States want to improve the appearance of their cellulite! Typically seen on the buttocks and the thighs of women, cellulite is seen in 90% of adult women of all ages and skin types.

Cellulite appears when fibrous bands called septa pull down the skin’s surface, causing those signature dimples. Women with thinner skin and more enlarged fat cells may have more noticeable cellulite. However, fat is NOT cellulite and does NOT directly cause it! Topical treatments may temporarily smooth the appearance of dimples, but they don’t get to the root of the problem.

How Does Resonic Work?

Resonic Cellulite Treatment ChicagoResonic Rapid Acoustic Pulse technology is a non-invasive treatment to improve the appearance of cellulite. It is the only FDA-cleared device that offers some of the benefits of both non-invasive and surgical approaches to a single cellulite treatment.

Resonic generates high-frequency sound waves that get sent through the skin 50-100 times per second, physically changing the septa that contribute to cellulite (fibrous bands that pull down on the skin causing dimples). These waves are specially engineered to physically change fibrous septa without damaging surrounding tissues (non-invasive), restoring smoothness to the skin with just a single 1 hour session.

Check out the paper CCSD helped write, published in Lasers in Surgery and Medicine, researching the efficacy and safety of Resonic.

Resonic is currently FDA-cleared for use on the buttocks, outer thighs, inner thighs, and lower thighs. However, Resonic is continuing to evaluate its safety and efficacy for cellulite reduction on other parts of the body, with the goal of expanding its use.

The treated area will feel warm to the touch and may tingle slightly. You may also have pinkness in the treated area for a few hours following treatment. This non-invasive, no downtime treatment means you can get back to your life right away!

Cellulite appearance will improve over time after treatment as you skin rebounds from the physical change of the septa. Most experience best results after 12 weeks.

Clinical studies showed 93% patient satisfaction in the improvement of cellulite of the treated area after just a single Resonic treatment.
