Slimspec

The Slimspec™ is an FDA listed device used for temporary reduction in the appearance of cellulite. At Chicago Cosmetic Surgery and Dermatology, we specifically use the Slimspec to provide a more effective alternative to hand massage following body shaping procedures.

The energy is delivered via a hand-piece making contact with the skin, creating controlled pressure waves of energy (unfocused shock waves). These radial waves are used to treat dermatologic and cosmetic conditions by impacting the collagen structure and connective tissue of the skin, improving lymphatic drainage, increasing metabolic activity and stimulating collagen formation.

Slimspec radial wave therapy, comparable to the ZWave, is an FDA listed device used for the temporary reduction in the appearance of cellulite. It is a non-invasive treatment with no reported side effects or downtime. Patients simply feel the device shuddering against their skin throughout the procedure but the sensation is completely painless.

CCSD was one of the first clinics in Chicago to use the Slimspec or “Fat Cracker” to replace manual massage after CoolSculpting® and CoolMini™ fat freezing treatments. Due to the enhanced benefits provided by combining these procedures we call this Coolsculpting+. Using the Slimspec for 4-5 minutes in place of manual massage helps to evenly break down frozen fat cells, leading to faster recovery time and increased fat reduction.
